Shrewsbury Athletic Club athletes have competed in the final fixture of the Midland Track and Field League Division 6 at Hereford , where the team which comprised young, senior and veteran Club athletes achieved no fewer than fifteen podium places and eight personal best and two season's best individual performances. Among the veterans, Pete Duckers competed in the Over 75 category in the Mens' Shot Put, Discus, Hammer and Javelin and Pat Higgins in the Over 60 category in the Womens' Discus, Hammer and Javelin – both having to throw the senior's weight implements.

GOLD: Gabe Morris 800m SMA 2/06.7, Rebecca Walker High Jump SWA 1.66m(PB), Brad Davies-Pughe Long Jump SMA 6.61m, Louis Schofield Long Jump SMB 6.30m, Jess Foster Triple Jump SWA 9.82m, Rachael Hemingway-Deaney Triple Jump SWB 9.59m, Gemma Turner Javelin SWB 13.57m(PB). SILVER: Louis Schofield High Jump SMA 1.75m(PB), Jess Foster Long Jump SWA 4.61m(PB), Brad Davies-Pughe Triple Jump SMA 12.84m, Gemma Turner Discus SWA 14.49m. BRONZE: Evie Logan 400m SWA 72.3(PB), Nathanial Combrinck Javelin SMA 35.41m, Pete Duckers Javelin SMB 22.95m(SB), 4 x 100m Relay SWA Rebecca Walker, Rachael Hemingway-Deaney, Evie Logan, Jess Foster.


Gabe Morris finished 4th in the V35 800m at the British Masters Championships at the Alexander Stadium Birmingham in 2/07.89, followed by a new personal best time for the 800m of 2/02.59 at the British Milers Club meeting at Tipton. Jake Milovsorov was also in action at Tipton running a personal best time of 16/39.40 in the 5000m.


On the road running scene, Stewart Farley had his first top ten placing, finishing 8th in the Cannock Chase 10K in 39/59, with Club newcomer Tom Richards 16th in 41/02 in his debut race for the Club. Pete Savill represented the English Masters in the Barry Island 10K, a Masters International 10K event, finishing 149th and 6th in the Veteran Over 65 category in 42/49.


Colin Perry competed in two challenging events, finishing 1st Veteran Over 40 in 21st place in the North Wales Half Marathon at Conwy in 1/37/10 on a tough course described as a beach and mountain challenge and then completed the Race The Train Challenge at Twywn, finishing the race in 61st place in 1/45/31 and beating the train at his third attempt despite winds gusting up to 40 mph.
